Quiztria is made by Novarium. This page explains exactly what the game stores, why it stores it, and what it never collects. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
The short version
- You can play without giving us your name, your email or any account.
- There are no ads, no analytics SDKs and no third-party trackers in the game or on this site.
- We never sell or share your data.
- If you link Google Play Games, we receive an anonymous player ID that only works for this game — not your email, name or profile picture.
What we store
- A random device ID. When you first open the game it generates 16 random bytes on your device and uses that as your account key. It is not your phone's hardware ID, advertising ID or phone number, and it tells us nothing about your device. If you uninstall the game it is gone.
- A display name. Auto-generated by the game (for example "NimbleBadger34"). You can change it on the Play online screen, and what you type is what other players see. Use a name you are happy for a stranger to read — you do not need to use your real one, and the game never asks for it.
- Your play data. Scores, daily streak, Sparks and the icons you own, plus your question history: which questions you have been shown, how many times, whether you answered each one correctly, and when you last saw it. The history is what stops the game repeating questions at you, and is what would let us offer you a re-play of the ones you got wrong.
- A Google Play Games player ID — only if you choose to link. Linking is optional and exists so your progress survives a new phone. Google gives us an ID that is specific to this game and cannot be used to identify you elsewhere. We do not receive, and do not store, your email address, your real name or your profile picture.
- An email address — only if you type one into the beta form on this website. It is used to send you a test invite and nothing else. It is stored separately from the game and is not connected to your play data.
- What your opponents' records hold about you. When you play a duel or add a friend, your display name and the result of that match are copied into the other player's own records, so they can see who they played and what the score was. The same is true in reverse. A duel also has a shared record of its own, holding both players' names and scores, which is deleted 30 days after the duel was created.
- Reports and blocks between players. If you report another player, we store which account reported which, the reason you picked from the list, and when — so we can act on it. If you block someone, that is stored on both sides so neither of you is shown to the other. Reports name two accounts by their IDs, so a report you made, or one made about you, is also a record about the other person.
- Questions you report. If you report a question as wrong, unclear, misspelled or too easy to guess, we store which question, which reason you picked and your account ID. There is no free-text field. Your report is never shown to another player. We keep it so we can tell how many different people flagged the same question, and so that a future reward for spotting a real mistake can find the person who spotted it.
- Technical server logs. Our server records events such as a match starting, which questions it served, whether each answer was right or wrong and how long it took, and when a connection dropped, together with the account ID involved. We use these to find bugs — for example to check whether a player really was shown the same question twice. They rotate automatically and are not used to build a profile of you.
What we do not collect
- No advertising ID, no location, no contacts, no photos, no microphone, no camera.
- No analytics, crash-reporting or advertising SDKs of any kind.
- The game never asks for your email address or your real name. The display name is the one thing you type, and it is up to you what it says.
- Nothing is sold, rented or handed to advertisers or data brokers.
Why we store it
Only to run the game: to keep your account and progress, to avoid showing you questions you have already had, to put you and your friends in the same match, and to fix things when they break. There is no other purpose.
Where it is stored
On our own server in Sweden, run by us — not on a third-party gaming or advertising platform. Traffic between your phone and the server is encrypted (HTTPS/WSS).
How long we keep it
Your account and play data are kept while your account exists, so your progress is still there when you come back. Technical logs are kept for a limited period and then overwritten automatically. Beta-invite email addresses are deleted once the open test ends, or sooner if you ask.
Deleting your data, and your rights
How to request deletion of your Quiztria account
- Email hello@novarium.se from any address, with the subject "Quiztria deletion request".
- Include your account code so we can identify the right account. You will find it at the bottom of the Stats screen in the game — tap it to copy the full code, then paste it into the email. Easier still, the “Delete my account” button on that same screen writes the email for you, with the code already in it — it does not delete anything by itself, it just saves you the typing. If you linked Google Play Games, say so as well.
- We confirm and delete within 30 days. You do not need an account with us to ask.
What is deleted
Your account and everything held under it: the device ID, your display name, your play data (scores, daily streak, question history including your correct and wrong answers, Sparks, owned icons), your question reports, and the Google Play Games link if you made one. The account itself is removed, not just emptied.
What is kept, and for how long
Three things outlive the account, and we would rather say so than promise otherwise. The copies your past opponents hold — your display name and the score of a match you played against them — stay in their records, because they are part of what those players see about their own history. They fade as those records age: a duel's shared record is deleted 30 days after the duel was created, and an opponent's list keeps only the most recent games. If a copy is still visible and you want it gone sooner, write to us and we will remove it by hand. Technical server logs may still mention the deleted account's ID until they rotate, which happens automatically and no later than about a year; they are never used to rebuild a profile. Reports and blocks involving you are kept, because each one is also a record about the other player and about how we handled it; we remove your display name from them on request.
Aggregate counts that cannot be traced to a person — such as how many times a question has been answered across all players — are kept. If you also asked for a beta invite on this website, tell us and we will delete that email address too.
- You can play without linking any account at all.
- You can also ask us for a copy of the data tied to your account, using the same address.
- Deleting the game from your phone removes the device key stored on it, but does not by itself delete the account on the server — use the steps above for that.
- If you are in the EU/EEA you have the right to access, correct, delete and object to the processing of your data, and to complain to your data protection authority (in Sweden, IMY).
Children
Quiztria is a general-audience trivia game and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. The game asks for one thing a player types themselves: a display name, which other players can see. It is filled in for you with a made-up name, and nothing in the game asks for a real name, an age, an address or a photograph. If you are a parent and would rather your child's name were not visible to others, change it to anything you like on the Play online screen, or write to us and we will remove the account.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. The current version always lives at this address.
